How the Society is financed CCMS and the contracting mortuary are separate entities, each with a different role. The mortuary provides the actual death care and is a for-profit business. The Society, being nonprofit, depends on membership fees, the volunteer services of its members, and voluntary donations. Voluntary dues help support basic operating expenses, which have increased significantly as a result of adding office rent and office manager wages to our budget. Education donations support publication of the Society's Newsletter and other informational and outreach efforts. Memorial donations are invested to produce interest or dividend income. Membership fees are kept low, in
keeping with the objectives of providing access to the
Society for those who need it the most and of promoting
economy in death care. Contributions to the special funds
are not an obligation of membership, yet are much
needed.
Membership is $30 per individual.
Members of affiliated Memorial or Funeral Societies now living in the area of this Society may transfer their membership by completing the membership application as follows: 1. Enter name(s) and address, as indicated. |
