The San Luis Obispo Blues Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing the Central Coast with high quality Blues music performances at reasonable prices. Our dance-concerts provide an opportunity for people to get close to the performers and move with the music. The San Luis Obispo Blues Society typically produces 7 shows per year. We also distribute a newsletter to over 2000 households that includes show announcements, artist bios, a calendar of other local Blues events and CD reviews.

Our all volunteer organization was founded in 1980 and is the third oldest Blues Society in the country. Call 805/541-7930 before the show to volunteer.
 

Goals

• Increase community diversity by providing a venue for Blues oriented touring bands who might not otherwise visit San Luis Obispo County.
• Assist in the promotion of local Blues performers.
• Provide affordable entertainment by keeping ticket prices low and by providing free admission to volunteers.
• Serve an educational function by providing information about Blues performers, Blues music, and local Blues events in the newsletter and on the website.
• Create an interactive atmosphere with opportunity for audience participation through dance.
