San Luis Obispo Genealogical Society Libraries
LIBRARIES: The SOCIETY has two libraries:
The San Luis Obispo Genealogical Library
is located in the San Luis Obispo
City/County Library building at 995 Palm St., SLO. We are
on the second floor of the library in a smaller room not far from the microfilm
machines. On days that the SLO City/County Public Library is open, our library hours
are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 10 AM to 3 PM. The library will also be open Saturday, July 12th and 19th from 10 AM to 3 PM. If you are coming from a great distance, please telephone 805-785-0383
ahead of time to be sure that we are available. Emergencies happen.
SAN LUIS OBISPO
GENEALOGICAL LIBRARY POLICY CHANGE:
We are now allowing members
of the society to borrow our Periodical publications and our CD collection.
Since they are often difficult to study thoroughly while you are in the
library, we will let you take them home for more efficient research.
The Arroyo Grande Genealogical Library is located upstairs at the Arroyo
Grande Public Library, South County Regional Center, 800 W. Branch St., Arroyo
Grande, CA 93420. The library is usually open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 PM to 4 PM
or by appointment any time the South County Library is open. For appointment,
contact Cafi Cohen, <cfcohen@pacbell.net>.

RESEARCH: The SLOCGS Librarians are available to do research using the many San Luis Obispo County resources we have in our Genealogical Library. In addition to those resources our Librarians can search for Birth, Marriage, Death records and Obituaries. We do ask that a donation of $15.00 per hour ($13.00 for members) be submitted. This includes cost of copies. Please contact our Librarians by email or by letter to: P. O. Box 4, Atascadero, CA 93423-0004 for additional information.
